FLEXcon's V-778 permanent pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive is a highly aggressive adhesive ideal for use with low-surface-energy plastics such as thermoplastic polyolefins (TPOs). V-778 reduces or eliminates the need to prime or flame-treat TPO surfaces before adhesive application, reducing time and money associated with pre-treating TPO surfaces.

FLEXcon collaborated with LyondellBasell Advanced Polyolefins and tested V-778 on a range of thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) and polyolefin alloy materials. LyondellBasell found the adhesive to exhibit excellent adhesion and durability. It also works well on powder-coated painted surfaces and is available in 1 to 4 mil coating thicknesses.

Based on the application, V-778 can be manufactured as a transfer tape (for use on a single-coated protective product) or as part of a double-coated construction when two incompatible surfaces must be bonded.

V-778 is ideal for gasketing and sealing applications on surfaces that are challenging to adhere to. It can be used as an assembly aid during the attachment process in manufacturing. Further, it provides sealing properties when bonding two low-surface-energy plastics or other smooth products.
