BOSTIK ANNOUNCES FLEXIBLE PACKAGING ACQUISITION Bostik, Wauwatosa, WI, recently acquired Dupont de Nemours adhesives business for the flexible packaging market. This 22 million Euros business, operating under the Herberts® brand, owns strong technologies supporting a leading position in this market. This acquisition reinforces the presence of Bostik in flexible packaging by extending both its product range and its geographic coverage.
HELMITIN ADHESIVES NAMES NATIONAL SALES MANAGER Helmitin Adhesives, Olive Branch, MS, has announced the promotion of Tim Mizell to national sales manager. In this position, Mizell will be responsible for managing and directing the entire North American sales team, as well as generating revenue and customer growth for the company.
INEOS IMPROVES PIB CAPABILITY AT WHITING PLANT INEOS Oligomers, League City, TX, has announced a planned investment of $4.5 million for its Whiting polyutene plant that will improve its capability to meet the demands of its customers. The planned logistics modifications will enable the plant to supplement on-site sources of raw material supply to further optimize utilization of existing production assets. Construction and installation of the material handling systems is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2007.
LOHMANN CORP ANNOUNCES SPECIALTY COATING EXPANSION Lohmann Corp. has announced that its subsidiary, Lohmann Specialty Coating LLC, Orange, VA, will be expanding its existing manufacturing facility in early 2007. The new project will cost approximately $2 million and will add 25,000 sq. ft. of office and warehouse space. The expansion will be used to support the transfer of production of a wide range of pressure-sensitive tape products that are currently being made at Lohmann’s plant in Germany, while also supporting the Lohmann Group’s penetration into the medical/specialty coating markets.

ROCKWOOD APPOINTS PRESIDENT OF CHEMETALL Rockwood Holdings Inc., Princeton, NJ, has announced that Dr. Monika Engel-Bader has been appointed to the position of president of Chemetall GmbH and related businesses. In this position, Engel-Bader will have full responsibility for Rockwood’s global specialty chemicals segment, consisting of surface treatment, lithium/fine chemicals, special metals and metal sulfides. She joined Rockwood in Feb. 2004 as president of Chemetall’s Lithium/Fine Chemicals business. Engel-Bader previously spent 15 years with Celanese Corp. (formerly Hoechst AG), most recently as vice president of Ticona, the technical polymer division of Celanese.

fluid valve is designed for precise on-off flow control of medium- to high-viscosity fluid materials. It can also be used as a dispense valve for viscous materials, such as acrylic, epoxy, PVC, silicone, urethane and lubricants.
