William J. Cantwell has been named to the newly created position of vice president, Supply Chain, effective immediately. Previously he was vice president, process management. John Marsland has been named vice president, Corporate Development Office, effective immediately. He is responsible for strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, commercial development, innovation and business development, and venture investments. Previously he was director, Business Development. Prior to joining Air Products in 2002, Marsland was employed by The Stanley Works and GE. Glenn E. Beck has been named vice president, Global Information Technology, effective October 1, 2003. Beck replaces Joseph H. McMakin, who is retiring after 28 years with the company. Previously, Beck was responsible for leading all information technology activities associated with the company's global SAP deployment. Miles P. Drake, vice president and chief technology officer, has been named chairman-elect of the Industrial Research Institute (IRI), the foremost organization of senior research and development executives working together to enhance the effectiveness of technological innovation. Drake's term as Chairman commences in mid-2004.
