Information Week has named e-Chemicals to its annual E-Business 100 list.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Information Week has named e-Chemicals Inc. to its annual E-Business 100 list. Selected from more than 400 nominations, e-Chemicals was recognized for its e-business strategy, ability to execute vision and meet objectives, as well as its level of business and technology integration.

e-Chemicals provides both a neutral online marketplace for the purchase and sale of industrial chemicals, as well as customized e-procurement solutions. Its Web site, www.e-chemicals.com, is the only industrial chemicals e-commerce site to provide an integrated solution from product selection through financial settlement.

“We are extremely pleased to be named a top e-business by Information Week,” said Mike Efting, president of e-Chemicals Inc. “This recognition distinguishes e-Chemicals as a leader among all e-businesses, and validates our approach to improving efficiencies in the chemical industry’s supply-chain process.”

All nominations for the list were evaluated by analysts from Hurwitz Group, a consulting and research firm specializing in strategic e-business and IT initiatives, and Information Week researchers and editors. According to Judith Hurwitz, president and chief executive officer of Hurwitz Group, “All companies making the E-Business 100 list exemplify three overarching characteristics essential to e-business success — strong leadership, business vision and the capability to execute on strategy.”
