This company introduces Pressurex®, a tactile force-indicating sensor. The sensor is useful in assessing compression magnitude and distribution between any two mating or impacting surfaces. The sensor is a film that instantaneously and permanently changes color when placed in between impacting or mating surfaces. The intensity of the color is proportional to the amount of force applied, allowing the user to quantify the stress characteristics across the surface. The product is a valuable aid in both R&D and QA/QC. Additional applications include determination of platen parallelism and uniformity during lamination processes, vacuum bagging pressure, roller nip impressions during the manufacture of prepreg tapes, confirmation of pressure uniformity on wound filament parts, and the calibration of tools and equipment.
