Bemis Company, Inc. has announced that its Board of Directors has elected William F. Austen to vice president, Operations, reporting to COO Henry Theisen. In his position as an officer of Bemis Company, Austen will have responsibility for the MACtac pressure sensitive materials business subsidiary as well as the paper packaging operations of Bemis. "We are fortunate to have Bill on our team and I am pleased that the board has elected him an officer of Bemis Company," said Jeff Curler, president and CEO. "During his four years in our pressure sensitive materials business, Bill has repeatedly demonstrated his strong business leadership and management skills. Bemis will continue to benefit from his talent and experience in his expanded role at the company." Austen joined Bemis in 2000 as president of MACtac. Prior to joining Bemis Company, he held leadership positions at various manufacturing operations of General Electric Company, where he worked for 20 years. Austen received his Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Marine Engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College and his Masters Degree in Engineering Administration from George Washington University.
