Scholle Corp. has opened a sales office in Weinheim, Germany, that will sell bag-in-box packaging to markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The office, a registered GmbH, will supply bags ranging from 2 to 1,000 liters from Scholle's worldwide manufacturing network, including operations in Gateshead, Holt and Fakenham, U.K., and Breda, The Netherlands. Scholle also maintains a sales office in Aix-en-Provence in France. Initially, the new German office will be staffed with two new Scholle employees, commercial manager Lutz Schöllhammer, a 25-year industry veteran, and business manager Thomas Hoffman, with 17 years of experience. Both men were formerly with Zewathener/Rapak. Conré Oostrom, managing director for Scholle Europe, is "extremely delighted about this opportunity. Having local representation will give us access to necessary contacts in a variety of market segments."
