International technology group Andritz has signed an agreement to buy the Filtration Business Unit of international NETZSCH Group, based in Germany. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The acquisition is subject to the approval of antitrust authorities, with the transaction scheduled to close in July. The NETZSCH Filtration Business Unit supplies different types of dewatering units - in particular filter presses -for solid/liquid separation and municipal applications. With approx. 270 employees, it achieves annual sales of approximately 35 MEUR. With this acquisition, the Andritz Group enlarges its system know-how in the Environment and Process Business Area. Andritz will take over locations of the NETZSCH Filtration Business Unit in Germany, Slovakia, Brazil, Singapore, and India. "The acquisition of the NETZSCH Filtration Business Unit will complement our product and technology know-how in the Environment and Process Business Area. It will enable us to participate in the globally growing market for dewatering systems," said Andritz CEO Dr. Wolfgang Leitner.
