SpecialChem has announced a new season of online training sessions, hosted by Ed Petrie, which will cover Polyurethane Adhesives & Sealants. Participants in the first training session will get Petrie's insights into key areas of PU Adhesive & Sealant formulation, including: an overview of PU chemistry (i.e. morphology, reactivity, crosslinking); selecting fillers, isocyanates, polyols, thixotrophy agents, silanes, primers, etc.; understanding modern 1K and 2K formulations, 100% solid and waterborne formulations; new raw materials and future trends. In session two, Petrie explains how to select and apply PU Adhesives & Sealants. From 100% solid and waterborne PU adhesives to solvent and hot-melt systems (reactive and non-reactive), Petrie will review the cure mechanisms, possible methods of application and the specific applications and market segments where each PU adhesive type finds use. The first training session, "How to Formulate Polyurethane Adhesives & Sealants," is scheduled for Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at 3:00 p.m. London time, 10:00 a.m. EST. The second session, "Selecting and Applying Polyurethane Adhesives," will take place Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at 3:00 p.m. (London), 10:00 a.m. EST.
