ARLINGTON, Va. — A paper discussing the appropriateness of the toxicity classification given to Polymeric MDI in the International Fire Code (IFC) has been published by the Alliance for the Polyurethanes Industry (API), a business unit of the American Plastics Council (APC). The premise of the paper is that PMDI should have been reclassified from the ‘highly toxic’ to ‘toxic’ hazard chemical category based on its properties, fire behavior and inhalation toxicity.
