Solvay Chemicals, Inc. has announced a 4.5% increase in the list and off-list pricing of its CAPA Caprolactone product line (monomer, polyols and thermoplastics). This increase is effective June 7, 2004, or as allowed by contracts and agreements. List prices were last increased in 1998. Solvay cited escalating energy and raw material costs as the reason for the increase. Solvay Chemicals, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Solvay America, Inc., the U.S. holding company for most of the North American subsidiaries of the worldwide Solvay chemical and pharmaceutical group.
