The Dow Chemical Co., a leading global producer of glycol ethers, recently announced that it is evaluating sites in Asia Pacific for a new propylene oxide-based glycol ethers production facility to meet the growing demand in the region. The new plant, similar in size to Dow's facility in Stade, Germany, would incorporate recent technology advancements and provide Asia Pacific customers with a local supply source for high quality P-Series glycol ethers. "Dow is the world's largest producer of glycol ethers, and our back-integration and diverse network of production sites also make us the most cost-efficient and reliable supplier," said Ted Cosse, vice president, Acrylics, Solvents & Intermediates. "We are committed to maintaining this leadership position by providing capacity to satisfy our customers' growing demands where they need it most. We are moving very quickly on this project."
