BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — National Starch and Chemical Co. and Schenectady International Inc., Schenectady, N.Y., have agreed in principle to form an alliance to develop, manufacture and sell acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives.

National Starch has a broad line of solution acrylic and hot melt adhesives. The addition of Schenectady’s acrylic hot melts complements National’s ability to provide hot melt coaters with advanced technology and also broadens capabilities for meeting customers’ needs.

Under terms of the alliance, Schenectady International would be responsible for production, scale up and process development for acrylic hot melts. National Starch would handle product development and provide technical service, sales, marketing and distribution of these materials. The agreement would be global.
