Emerald Performance Materials LLC (“Emerald”) has announced the formation of CVC Thermoset Specialties Division - the combination of CVC Specialty Chemicals and Emerald’s Reactive Liquid Polymers (RLP) businesses. CVC Specialty Chemicals was acquired by Emerald earlier this year. John Cech, former president and founder of CVC Specialty Chemicals, will lead the new business unit.

“There is a natural fit between these businesses, which offer complementary product lines to common end-use applications,” Cech said. “This formation creates substantial opportunities to continue the growth that both RLP and CVC have experienced separately. Together, we offer a unified portfolio of niche materials for the thermoset industry at a time when significant change and rapid growth is underway.” The CVC Thermoset Specialties Division develops and manufactures key raw materials used in structural composites and adhesives for automotive, aerospace, sporting goods and wind energy applications; coatings for automotive, industrial and marine markets; and electronic and electrical applications.

The CVC Thermoset Specialties Division will be headquartered in Moorestown, NJ, with operations in Moorestown and Maple Shade, NJ, and Akron, OH. Maple Shade will continue to be the site for epoxy manufacturing, and RLP products will continue to be manufactured at Emerald’s plant in Akron. According to Cech, research and development and technical service will be located in both Moorestown and Akron. Customer service will be located in Moorestown to manage customer orders and order processing for both product lines.
