The Forest Products Society will sponsor this year’s International Conference on Wood Adhesives, taking place September 28-30 at Harveys Resort Hotel & Casino, South Lake Tahoe, NV. The adhesive team at the Forest Products Laboratory is the technical organizer of the meeting.

The ninth in a series of conferences sponsored every 4-5 years by the USDA Forest Service, Forest Products Laboratory and the Forest Products Society, the conference is designed to provide a comprehensive update of the science and technology of wood adhesives and bonded wood products. The event will take place in conjunction with ASTM International D 14.30 Wood Adhesives Subcommittee on October 1.

Plenary, technical and poster presentations will take place throughout the event. In addition, table-top exhibits will include the following subject areas.
  • Formaldehyde and environmental issues
  • Resin chemistry
  • Composites
  • Modeling
  • Bio-based adhesives
  • Analytical methods
  • Engineered wood structures
The conference is organized in cooperation with ASI; the Adhesion Society; The Adhesive and Sealant Council, Inc.; ASTM Committee D14 on Adhesives; Chinese Research Institute of Wood Industry; IUFRO 5.04.07 Adhesives Division; Japan Wood Research Society; Society of Wood Science & Technology; and the Wood-Based Composites Center.
