CAS-MI Laboratories has announced an alliance with Chemical Dynamics LLC.

CAS-MI Laboratories, an independent laboratory and product formulation facility, has announced an alliance with Chemical Dynamics LLC, a coatings consulting firm that also specializes in formulation development. Chemical Dynamics’ Ronald J. Lewarchik brings over 35 years of research and development experience in formulating and testing of a variety of industrial, automotive, and UV-cure coatings to the business arrangement. His special expertise includes the development of low-VOC-content coatings, low-temperature cure coatings and ultra-durable compositions, as well as thin, conventional, and thick film corrosion-resistant primers.

"With the launch of our new CAS-MI Innovation Center, we can utilize Ron's vast industry experience in such market applications as automotive, coil coatings, aerospace, appliances, packaging, building and more," said David W. Riggs, PE, president of CAS-MI Laboratories. "Our analytical and testing capabilities will be an added asset to Chemical Dynamics' consulting offerings."

Lewarchik has been awarded numerous grants for developing energy-saving and environmentally friendly coatings products. In addition to his role as president of Chemical Dynamics LLC, he is also an adjunct research professor at Eastern Michigan University. Lewarchik has been awarded 34 U.S. patents and has published widely in both academic and trade journals. In addition, he is the recipient of three prestigious R&D 100 awards in global competition for the development of innovative coating technologies.

"The resource base, personnel and equipment of CAS-MI creates an excellent synergy with Chemical Dynamics," said Lewarchik. "Together we can provide coatings characterization to the scale-up and manufacturing of new coatings technology."

CAS-MI Laboratories, along with the CAS-MI Innovation Center, helps entrepreneurs and established corporations create new paints, coatings, adhesives, sealants, and other specially formulated products. Since 1943, CAS-MI has helped companies with formulation development and troubleshooting. The company recently moved into a new 11,000-square-foot facility, allowing for expansion of both its analytical and chemical formulation services.
