The patented Ross PowerMix high-viscosity change-can mixer includes two separate agitation systems. A powerful planetary blade revolves in combination with a separate high-speed dispersion blade. Both revolve on their own axes as well as on a common axis, and each blade’s speed may be controlled independently. This combination allows users to fine-tune the mixer to meet specific process needs and the shear rates required to optimize that process.
The PowerMix is generally used for high-viscosity vacuum mixing and dispersion requirements that previously required multiple mixers to complete the process. This one-step processing saves time and helps to prevent possible external contamination of product caused by moving the material from one mixing step to another.
The PowerMix is available in many sizes, from a ½-gal laboratory unit to a 750-gal production model. Many optional features are supplied, including a range of materials of construction; vacuum and pressure designs; jackets to heat or cool; wall scrapers; sanitary construction, and.
