A new high total solids toluene solution of a polymeric release agent reportedly offers significant improvements over carbamate release agents. The solid release agent in Hitac RA-21S is pre-dissolved at high total solids in toluene, and any concentrations of its solutions are reportedly stable without heating. These properties can free up plant space allocated for dissolving carbamate, and can enable automation by replacing the dissolving process with simple dilution.

Furthermore, in all processes involving release agents, these properties can eliminate or reduce VOC emissions, workers’ exposure to toluene vapor, fire hazards, and energy and labor costs.
