With 427 exhibitors and more than 7,500 overall participants from 69 countries, the third American Coatings Show & Conference, which took place May 8-10 in Indianapolis, IN, reportedly exceeded previous numbers for visitors, exhibitors, and net exhibit space. (The 2010 event drew 328 exhibitors and 6,700 participants.) The organizers, the American Coatings Association and Vincentz Network, reported that attendees rated the event with high satisfaction on the visitor survey.

Exhibitors from 19 countries displayed a comprehensive range of products from all aspects of coatings formulation in more than 91,000 net sq ft of exhibit space . Companies from abroad accounted for 35% of the exhibitors.

Featuring more than 96 presentations, the American Coatings Conference, which took place May 7-9, reportedly hit the mark with the coatings industry. In a pre-conference survey conducted by Vincentz Network, coatings experts judged functional and smart coatings (29%), waterborne coatings (19%), and sustainable coatings (19%) as the most important future technologies in their industry sector. Sessions covering these hot topics were well attended.
