LORD Creates Brazilian Application Engineering Center

LORD recently announced plans to invest in the development of an application engineering center in Brazil. According to Bruno Fragoso, manager of New Business Development and Application Engineering, the initiative aims to streamline the service of the oil/gas and aeronautical industries.

“Due to the pre-salt layer and the increased demand for Embraer aircrafts, there is sufficient volume of business in the country to justify the investment in a structure such as this, capable of providing local support to several projects that use our mechanical solutions,” Fragoso said.

Over the next few years, LORD expects to invest more than $500,000 in equipment, software and the hiring of mechanical engineers. The company already holds similar centers in the U.S., Switzerland and China.
