Finished Adhesives and Sealants / New Products

RED DEVIL INC.: Sealant

FireBlock Foam-N-Fill recently received an evaluation report from ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) providing evidence that the polyurethane foam meets code requirements.

“Red Devil can now reference the evaluation report to ensure building officials and the building industry that the product meets I-Code requirements,” said Mark Johnson, ICC-ES president. “Building departments have a long history of using evaluation reports, and ICC-ES operates as a technical resource for the building department. Final approval of building products is always in the hands of the local regulatory agency.”

The sealant reportedly expands to take on the shape of annular cracks and voids where wood has been penetrated by construction plates, pipes, and conduits. It has a Flamespread index of less than 25 and has reportedly been tested to establish that it maintains the integrity of fireblocking when wood is penetrated.
