The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) recently announced that 587 people attended its Spring Convention and Expo, which took place April 21-23 in Atlanta, Ga. The meeting reportedly broke the most recent attendance record of 511 people from the Spring 2011 convention.
“Strong attendance leads to dynamic conversations, meetings and positive value for all attendees,” said Matthew E. Croson, president. “ASC was pleased to see the industry rally around the program content, expanded Expo and improving economy, and take the time to invest in their business by participating in the convention.”
At the meeting, the ASC Board of Directors agreed that the ASC will undergo a formal long-range plan review in 2013. The most recent Long Range Plan was initiated in 2005, and added to in 2008 and 2010; the Board agreed that with so many new programs being developed, as well as a completely changed industry landscape, the time is right for a new discussion on the council’s long-range plans.
The ASC also announced plans to connect with end users via a to-be-developed “Industry Roadshow” program. Similar to the council’s move toward direct engagement via a transformed adhesives/sealants.org website, the ASC reportedly wants to connect directly with end users and illustrate the value adhesives and sealants can have for a variety of industries as part of a long-term plan to educate customers.
