Univar recently announced its waste management business ChemCare has been awarded the Houston Business Roundtable and Houston Area Safety Council’s silver award for excellence in safety. The award reportedly honors contractors in the Houston/Gulf Coast area that have achieved an outstanding record of worksite safety performance during the previous year.

“We’re thrilled to receive this prestigious safety award and are honored to be acknowledged alongside a group of world-class companies,” said Shawn Carter Lilley, vice president of Global Safety. “Our employees work hard every day to ensure we provide the best service with the highest safety standards. Safety is a top priority for us at ChemCare and throughout Univar, so we’re particularly honored to be recognized for our outstanding safety record.”

Univar’s ChemCare was nominated by Chevron Philips Chemical for the award in the Specialty Contractor-Soft Crafts Large category. ChemCare was recognized as the silver award winner among 89 other companies.
