Dow Product Receives R&D 100 Award

A new product resulting from a collaborative effort between Preferred Sands LLC and The Dow Chemical Co. has been named by R&D Magazine as one of the 100 most influential innovations in 2013. Preferred RCS™ resin-coated sand with Dow TERAFORCE™ Technology received an R&D 100 Award for its role in helping improve oil productivity and the environmental profile of the hydraulic fracturing process.

“We are delighted to be honored with Preferred Sands for this industry-changing technology,” Chris Chrisafides, commercial director for Dow Polyurethanes in North America. “This technology demonstrates how a unique and close collaboration with our customer results in innovation that capitalizes on a growth market while addressing the short and long-term needs of society.”
