ALTANA recently announced its Supervisory Board has appointed Martin Babilas to the position of chief executive officer. Babilas has served as chief financial officer of ALTANA AG since 2007.

On January 1, 2016, Babilas will succeed Matthias L. Wolfgruber, Ph.D., who will retire. As such, he will take over responsibility for Corporate Development/M&A, Human Resources, Corporate Communications and Internal Audit. On that same date, Christoph Schlünken, Ph.D., will assume responsibility for Innovation Management.

In addition, the Supervisory Board has appointed Stefan Genten to the position of chief financial officer, effective August 1. Genten worked in various management capacities for the Grünenthal pharmaceutical group for 13 years.
