More than 700 delegates from the global adhesives and sealants community are expected to meet October 26-28 at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel in Tokyo for the World Adhesive & Sealant Conference 2016 (WAC2016). Some 300 delegates will attend from overseas, and 400 from Japan, to discuss industry trends and advancements. Attendees will represent adhesive and sealant manufacturing companies, as well as suppliers of raw materials, equipment manufacturers, and sales personnel.

The event, which is held every four years, is organized this year by the Asia Regional Adhesive Council and Japan Adhesive Industry Association. Co-organizing associations include: China Adhesives and Tape Industry Association, Korea Adhesive Industry Association, Taiwan Synthetic Resins and Adhesives Industrial Association, The Adhesive and Sealant Council Inc. and The Association of European Adhesive Manufacturers (FEICA).

The main theme of WAC2016 is Creating Tomorrow, with three keywords: Environment, Creation, and Evolution.

 

WAC2016 Program

The conference will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, with a keynote address, followed by several plenary lectures. Lunch will take place at 1:15 p.m., followed by a series of four breakout conference sessions from 3-4:15 p.m. The four sessions cover the following topics:

• Environment: lifecycle considerations for the adhesive and sealant industry and global regulatory trends

• Evolution: adhesion evaluation, next-generation adhesives and sealants, and new markets

• Creation: new adhesives and new markets/educating markets

• Others: Topics not included in the other categories

The exhibition hall will be open from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. A welcome party is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

On Tuesday, October 27, four conference sessions take place from 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. The exhibition hall will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. A gala dinner takes place at 7 p.m.

The breakout conference sessions pick up again at 9 a.m. on Friday, October 28. A farewell party and closing session take place at noon.
