The SMTA recently announced its election results for the Board of Directors for the term beginning during SMTA International, which takes place September 25-29 in Rosemont, Ill.

Jeff Kennedy (Celestica Inc.) was elected president. Sal Sparacino (ZESTRON Americas) was elected vice president of communications. Richard Henrick (Sanmina Corp.) was re-elected as secretary. Matt Kelly (IBM Corp.) and Martin Anselm, Ph.D. (Rochester Institute of Technology) were re-appointed to the strategic development committee.

Those remaining on the SMTA Board of Directors include: Robert Kinyanjui, Ph.D. (treasurer); Debbie Carboni (vice president of expos); Eileen Hibbler (vice president of membership); and Raiyomand Aspandiar, Ph.D. (vice president of technical programs). Other members of the strategic development committee include: Richard Coyle, Ph.D., Tim Jensen, and Scott Priore.

The SMTA bids farewell to departing president Bill Barthel, as well as to Michelle Ogihara, vice president of communications. They are congratulated for a job well done and given thanks for the years of dedication to the SMTA.
