Adhesion Society to Host Second World Congress and 25th Annual Meeting

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Adhesion Society will host the Second World Congress on Adhesion and Related Phenomena (WCARP-II), coinciding with its 25th Annual Meeting, February 10-14, 2002, at the Hyatt Orlando in Florida. The scope and duration of the meeting have been enlarged to encourage active participation by researchers from all parts of the world.

The joining of the Society's 25th Annual Meeting with WCARP-II is the result of a decision reached in 1994 by the Adhesion Society Inc., The Adhesion Society of Japan and EURADH to organize a global event in the field of adhesion science on a four-year-rotation basis. It was decided to merge the World Congresses with the regular meetings of the co-organizing societies to diminish the proliferation of conferences on adhesion. The first World Congress, held in 1998 in Germany, was melded with the regular meeting of EURADH.

WCARP III, which is scheduled for 2006, will coincide with the regular meeting of the Asian co-organizers, with a likely venue in China. For further information, visit www.adhesionsociety.org.
