BETHESDA, Md. — The Adhesive and Sealant Council’s (ASC) 2000 Spring Convention and EXPO will be held April 2-5, 2000, at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. The Convention and EXPO offer attendees the opportunity to expand their knowledge about the industry, hear about advances in technology, learn what other companies are doing to compete in the global marketplace and network with peers.

The ASC is the largest trade association representing the North American adhesive and sealant industry. The convention is designed specifically for manufacturers of adhesives and sealants, suppliers of raw materials, services and equipment, academicians and end users.

The keynote session will be presented by Dr. John Izzo, author, psychologist and consultant. Dr. Izzo will talk about “the new work ethic.” His provocative presentation and experience with Fortune 500 companies will give attendees an edge on addressing issues of the workforce of the 21st century.

Sessions at the Convention include: Production Planning; Cycle Time; Batch Processing; Supply Chain Management; E-commerce; Sealants; Nanoparticles; Waterborne Adhesives; Ergonomics; Market Trends; Global Issues; and Best Manufacturing Practices.

The ASC EXPO, which will be held in conjunction with the Convention, is a unique industry marketplace that allows companies to showcase products and technologies to current and potential customers. Products, services, equipment, tools, materials and software will be exhibited.

The ASC will also host a technical short course specifically focused on waterborne technology April 4-5, 2000, at The Venetian Hotel. It is an excellent tool for training new employees needing a thorough understanding of waterborne adhesives and technology.

The short course will focus on the principal applications for waterborne adhesive technology and the formulating approaches used for each. Technical leaders in the industry will present papers on polymer systems, formulation and equipment.
