LOS ANGELES – Canon Communications LLC has announced plans to launch two new plastics shows in 2001 – PLASTEC™ West and PLASTEC East. Based in California and New York, the shows will benefit from co-location with other Canon events.

The U.S. plastics industry continues to introduce a steady flow of new products across a wide range of applications, including automotive, aviation/aerospace, packaging, building and construction, electronics, consumer products, and machinery. It supports a workforce of 1.3 million and enjoys a $5.5-billion trade surplus. According to recent estimates, annual plastics product shipments totaled $274 billion.

PLASTEC West will co-locate with the Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) and Pacific Design and Manufacturing shows, January 8-10, 2001, in California’s Anaheim Convention Center. PLASTEC East will co-locate with MD&M East and Atlantic Design & Manufacturing in New York’s Javits Convention Center, June 5-7, 2001.
