Carbon Advancements Discovered Through Use of Sticky Tape (10/5/10)

Andre Geim and his colleague Konstantin Novoselov have been awarded the Nobel Prize for their discovery of atom-thick graphite sheets that can be extracted by applying sticky tape to pieces of graphite. The new carbon forms, known as graphenes, have agreat potential in the field of electronics because of their superior conductive properties.
