CILS has launched a new range of highly durable labels to meet a growing need within the industrial market to change from metal-rating plates to printed labels. The new CIL-8000K series offers far more durability than a traditional thermal-transfer printed label due to the unique combination between the label's coating and the thermal transfer ribbon and printer. Offering extra durability in the most demanding of environments, printed variable data is resistant to fluids such as methyl chloroform, synthetic oil, isopropanol and kerosene, among others. In February of 2004, a major French aeronautical manufacturer contacted CILS because they could no longer put metal plates on their products. They presented CILS with a long list of print-resistance requirements that they had not been able to meet. After a year of extensive testing, CILS provided a complete solution, including labels, printer ribbons and thermal transfer printers. CILS is now being recommended to other production sites from the same group, who are ordering exactly the same range of products.
