Adhesives specialist Collano, headquartered in Sempach-Station near Luzern, Switzerland, has reported a drop in both sales and earnings for 2008.  Sales in 2008 declined by 5% to CHF 130.7 million (2007: CHF 137 million). Profit (EBIT) closed at CHF 3.5 million (2007: CHF 7.2 million), roughly half of the prior-year figure. The workforce at the end of 2008 was 344 employees worldwide, up by four persons. The reorganization of the Collano Group announced in 2008 was implemented at the operational level. Since Jan. 2009, the adhesives specialist has served its markets with three independent companies: nolax AG, Collano Adhesives AG, and Collano Services AG.
