Degussa Corp.'s Silanes Business Line, Parsippany, N.J., has named Whittaker, Clark & Daniels, Inc., official distributor of its organosilanes product line in the Northeast. Whittaker, Clark & Daniels, South Plainfield, N.J., will be responsible for sales in Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and several regions within Pennsylvania and New York.

Hoover Materials Handling Group Inc. (HMHGI)

Hoover Materials Handling Group Inc. (HMHGI), Alpharetta, Ga., has re-engineered its operating structure, creating four business units within the company -- Industrial Packaging, Asset Tanks, Distribution Services and Endural. HMHGI made these organizational changes as a result of the continuing reduction in industry demand for industrial packaging and to better utilize its capacity and resources.

Loctite Corp.

Loctite Corp., Industry, Calif., was named a recipient of Intel Corp.'s prestigious 2001 Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement Award for outstanding commitment to quality and performance. The company was awarded for its efforts in supplying Intel with die-attach adhesives and underfill materials.

Pressure Chemical Co. (PCC)

Pressure Chemical Co. (PCC), Pittsburgh, has received the Western Pennsylvania Safety Council Award for outstanding accident prevention for the fourth consecutive year. In addition, PCC is among the first recipients of the newly established SOCMA Responsible Care Achievement Award. This award is part of the SOCMA initiative designed to recognize companies that meet and exceed the criteria of Responsible Care(r) guidelines.

Southeastern Adhesives Co., Lenoir, N.C., has announced that its president, Don Barrier, and its executive vice president, John R. Kirby, have acquired the company. Established in 1963, the company manufactures industrial adhesives supplied to the furniture and woodworking industries throughout North America.

Tyco Adhesives L.P.

Tyco Adhesives L.P., Norwood, Mass., announces its new SST program for specialty adhesives products. The SST acronym stands for Slit and Ship in Two days. The program's intention is to supply full-width rolls or slit products in a quick and responsive manner, allowing customers to "run lean" with minimal inventory and maximum efficiency.
