While there may still be snow on the ground as I write this, Spring is in the air. With the changing of seasons and warmer weather on the horizon comes a fresh new beginning. We’re starting the new season off with a variety of great new editorial.
This month marks the debut of a new feature from Bayer MaterialScience, “Q&A About Polyurethane.” Dr. Jeffrey F. Dormish, Technical manager, Business Development Group, Bayer MaterialScience LLC, and his team of experts will answer questions from readers and help improve green strength and heat resistance, or adjust the reactivity of an adhesive, as well as provide solutions to improve the tensile strength, elongation, and UV stability of a sealant. Questions regarding contact bonding and laminating with polychloroprene can be addressed as well.
Dormish is responsible for the development of new adhesive and sealant applications, and leads the Aromatic Prepolymer Technology Platform Group at Bayer.
E-mail your questions to email@example.com with the subject line “Q&A About Polyurethane.”
ASI is proud to be the exclusive media sponsor for the World Adhesive Conference and Expo (WAC), taking place April 20-23 in Miami. Check out “Miami to Host World Adhesive Conference” for a special report on WAC, including a schedule-at-a-glance and exhibitor list. In addition, we will be providing “online exclusives” from the conference itself – if you can’t make it to Miami, check out our Web site at www.adhesivesmag.com for updates from the conference and expo!
This issue’s focus on construction brings two interesting features: In “Protecting Building Aesthetics,” learn how to mitigate some of the most common aesthetic issues in construction. In “Guggenheim Restoration Uses MAPEI Products,” read about how MAPEI, a leading producer of concrete restoration products, was involved in the restoration of the exterior of the world-renowned Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City, which was designed by legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
