The monthly roundup from Editor Teresa McPherson.

Price increases continue to be a factor in pricing for the chemical industry. We at Adhesives & Sealants Industry are pleased to announce a web seminar to address this noteworthy topic. Our inaugural web seminar, "Recovering Raw Material and Energy Cost Increases," will take place at 11 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, May 24.

While prices continue to rise, there are ways that companies can recover these costs while improving profitability. The one-hour web seminar will discuss the best practices in managing cost escalation through pricing. Presenter George Cressman will offer insight into effective and profitable price management and discuss the best practices in managing cost escalation through pricing. Attendees will learn how to manage cost escalation through pricing and recover costs while improving profitability.

Cressman is a vice president and senior pricing strategist at the Strategic Pricing Group, where he specializes in the chemical industry and other business-to-business markets. He has over 28 years of experience in the chemical industry, including positions with DuPont, Monsanto and Union Carbide. Cressman holds a degree in chemical engineering, an MBA and a doctorate in marketing. He has presented at the University of Minnesota, the University of Chicago and Columbia University, has been quoted in The Economist and other trade journals, and has written extensively about pricing.

This seminar is the first in a series of web-based seminars under the banner "ASI Online Solutions." These monthly programs will include business topics plus technical and commercial presentations designed to help you compete in the global marketplace and run your business more effectively, efficiently, and economically.

Speakers will include experts from business, industry and government sectors. Presentations will be geared toward both formulators and end users, and will be suitable for management as well as technical, sales and marketing, purchasing, and R&D staff.

The seminars will be fee-based, but priced economically so you can take advantage of the opportunity at affordable rates.
