Emerald Materials Names Wessel President, Polymer Additives

Timothy J. Wessel, Ph.D., has been appointed president of Emerald Performance Materials’ Emerald Polymer Additives business. He will be responsible for the strategic direction and all operational aspects of Emerald Polymer Additives.

Prior to joining Emerald, Wessel served as president of Solutia’s Advanced Interlayers Division and Technical Specialties Division. Throughout his nearly 20-year career in the chemical industry, he has held other key business positions at Monsanto, Flexsys and Solutia.

Wessel succeeds Edward T. Gotch, who had been serving as president of both the Emerald Kalama Chemical and Emerald Polymer Additives businesses. Gotch will continue as president of Emerald Kalama Chemical and focus on the continued growth of that enterprise and the recently acquired DSM Special Products business in the Netherlands.
