FLEXcon Announces 2003 Awards For Innovation Winners

FLEXcon recently announced the winners of its 2003 Awards for Innovation Contest. The competition celebrates the best and most innovative uses of pressure-sensitive film, recognizing applications that expand the market for these products. Smyth/Interactive Packaging Group won the Most Innovative award for their metallized primary label for Coors beer; Screenprint/Dow was given the Graphic Films award for their digitally-printed lenticular graphic; Chicago Decal won the Packaging award for its temperature indicator label for a wine bottle; and Brook & Whittle, Ltd. was given the Product Identification award for its Stanley hammer label, which features an EAS security component. The contest also features a Cutting Edge category, which allows customers to submit an application with the understanding that each entry will remain confidential. Smyth/Interactive Packaging Group took the win in this year's proprietary category. Winners receive industry and national recognition for their innovative applications. All winners were honored with a banquet at FLEXcon, as well as an all-expenses-paid trip to Kennebunkport, ME.
