Industry Experts Strengthen ATExpo 2001 Conference Program

NORWALK, Conn. -- Assembly Technology Expo (ATExpo) has partnered with the industry's top organizations to create a conference designed for the assembly professional by the assembly professional. The newly developed program features more than 60 technical sessions prepared and presented by the Association of International Motion Engineers, the Association for Manufacturing Excellence, the Edison Welding Institute, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the Wiring Harness Manufacturers Association. The conference, which is developed in conjunction with Assembly Magazine, the official sponsor of the event, runs from October 1 - 4, 2001, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.

"Engineering experts with real-world experience and industry know-how are the best resource of the application-oriented solutions needed to foster industry growth," comments Kelvin Marsden-Kish, vice president of the Assembly events. "Partnering with industry experts expands ATExpo beyond the marketplace of the show floor and offers attendees a broad range of 'best-practice' presentations with hands-on opportunities. Attendees from every aspect of production-system design and management will be able to network with the more than 700 exhibitors of assembly products and services while learning about the solutions and technologies necessary to remain competitive in such a rapidly evolving industry."

Additional features of the ATExpo conference include the co-located FIBEROPTIC Automation Expo Conference designed to provide the optoelectronics industry with automation and assembly solutions, and the SMTA International Technical Conference including the "Emerging Technology Summit" and 35 tutorials and workshops for professionals in the surface-mount, advanced-packaging and related industries.
