LOS ANGELES – To recognize the critical roles that design and engineering play in the effectiveness, safety, end-user benefits and commercial success of medical products, Canon Communications LLC is presenting its third annual Medical Design Excellence Awards program. Entries can be submitted in 10 different categories.

The deadline for entries is December 20, 1999. Entries may be submitted directly by a medical-device manufacturer or through its authorized industrial public-relations or design firm. A supplier of medical-grade materials and components used in the design of a finished product may submit an entry with the manufacturer’s written approval.

All entries will be judged by a panel of experts representing medicine, ergonomics and human factors, industrial design, manufacturing, and related disciplines.

To receive an entry form or for more information, contact Gretchen Hawley by phone at 310-445-4200, fax 310-445-4299, or e-mail gretchen.hawley@cancom.com.
