DULUTH, Georgia -Nordson Corp. is supporting the College of Architecture of the Georgia Institute of Technology and its Advanced Wood Products Laboratory (AWPL). With the AWPL mission "to move the production of finished products in the United States using wood and wood composite materials into an internationally competitive position," Nordson has provided the college some of the latest adhesive-application equipment to further this goal.

Nordson is providing an EB60V adjustable edge-banding slot gun and an MC 7 adhesive-application system to the recently renovated 17,000-sq-ft AWPL facility. The placement of the EB60V slot gun and MC 7 application system permits active displays of the technologies' capabilities to automate wood-products manufacturing.

"The opportunity to perform active demonstrations with current and future woodworking professionals is invaluable and allows the feedback we need to continue to advance the role of adhesive application in secondary wood products manufacturing," said Dave Deibel, Nordson woodworking industry specialist.

The Advanced Wood Products Laboratory is the largest such facility in an academic setting in the United States. For more information about the laboratory, visit www.arch.gatech.edu/awpl.
