Nylock Corp.: Nytem Self-Locking Fastener

Nylok Corp. has received acceptance of the Nytemp self-locking fastener from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in withstanding high temperatures of up to 400 degrees F and meeting newly published NAS1189 and NAS1190 Standards. Nilo Urbani, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Nylok, pointed out that the patented orange-colored patch frees designers from the 250 degrees F maximum of traditional materials and allows them to use self-locking fasteners with multiple cycle reuse capabilities in areas never before possible. By maintaining torque and clamp load stability in temperatures up to 450 degrees F (232 degrees C), the industry's most advanced high-temperature self-locking patch is ideal for assembly applications in aerospace, automotive, appliances, small engines and other areas where heat of this magnitude is encountered.
