The Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association (SOCMA) recognized all five of OMNOVA Solutions' Performance Chemical facilities with 2004 Responsible Care Achievement Awards. The awards were presented to OMNOVA at the association's annual dinner and reception held in New York City on December 14. OMNOVA's Chester, SC, Calhoun, GA, Fitchburg, MA, Green Bay, WI, and Mogadore, OH, plants were honored. The annual SOCMA award recognizes chemical manufacturing facilities that have demonstrated a strong public commitment to environmental, health, safety and security performance, which is promoted by the chemical industry's voluntary Responsible Care program. The award is based on performance in a number of categories, including community awareness and emergency response, process safety, employee health and safety, pollution prevention, chemical distribution, product stewardship, and security.
