PERMACEL ANNOUNCES CLOSURE OF NORTH BRUNSWICK PLANT

Permacel, the pressure-sensitive tape subsidiary of Nitto Americas, has announced a manufacturing facilities consolidation that will result in the closure of its North Brunswick, NJ, production plant. "This is part of an ongoing process," said J. Craig Markel, Permacel's executive vice president and COO. "We are continually refining our resources, enhancing our products, improving our value as a supplier and forging new technologies, all part of our strategy to better meet customers' needs." Markel said that Permacel's corporate headquarters will remain in the North Brunswick area, as they have been since Nitto Denko acquired the company in 1988. Employees at the headquarters will continue to direct operations, sales and administrative activities of Permacel's remaining New Jersey plant in Lakewood, as well as other Permacel operations nationwide. "In addition to our Lakewood, NJ, plant, we have Permacel facilities in Livonia, MI, Buena Park, CA, and Pleasant Prairie, WI," Markel said.
