PLASMAtech, inc. has released a new low-pressure gas plasma system for surface modification and ultra-pure cleaning of polymer components. The Q160 GAS PLASMA SYSTEM was designed for R&D and production processing of small parts. The system has a 6" x 9" quartz chamber, mass flow controller with magnetic valve for precise gas measurement, and PLC control with error monitoring to ensure absolute repeatability. Plasma generation comes via microwave frequency (2.45 GHz), resulting in low process temperatures and maximum chamber utilization since no internal electrodes are required. Power is variable up to 600W. The Q160 includes a corrosive service rotary vane pump filled with PFPE oil.
