Plasticolors Inc. recently appointed Margaret Dvorak to the position of Product Development Specialist. In her new position, Dvorak will provide technical expertise for the development of new products for the marketplace and technical program support for coatings customers.

Dvorak previously held positions with Valspar, Lubrizol, Sherwin-Williams and Sun Chemical. She has developed products for use in a variety of applications, including UV cure, industrial waterborne films, primer coatings, clearcoats, electrocoat deposition, automotive refinish, and overprint varnishes for headset and sheet-fed paste ink vehicles.

“We are excited that Margaret chose to join the Coatings business group at Plasticolors,” said Selby Brannon, business director for Coatings. “Her wide background in coatings and inks, color and additive knowledge, innovative approach to problem solving, and many years of formulating products for customers positions her to be a great asset to our technical team.”

The company also appointed Andrew Locy a chemist within the Coatings Technical Group. In his new position, he will provide direct support for the development and expansion of existing platform products for the coatings marketplace.

Locy recently attended graduate school at the University of Cincinnati, where he was working on a master’s degree in chemistry with an emphasis in organometallics and reactions with oxygen, specifically ozone. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Gannon University.

“We are excited to have Andrew join our coatings business,” said David Hyde, product development manager. “His education and enthusiasm about a ‘hands-on’ approach to chemistry will enhance the technical team.”
