Polyurethanes Expo 2001 on Track to Set New Record

More than 80 companies will put their newest products on display at Polyurethanes Expo 2001, October 1-3, 2001.

ARLINGTON, Va. -- More than 80 companies, including polyurethane producers, diisocyanate producers and equipment manufacturers, will put their newest products on display at Polyurethanes Expo 2001, October 1-3, 2001, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Fran W. Lichtenberg, executive director of the Alliance for the Polyurethanes Industry (API), is confident that Polyurethanes Expo 2001 will be the largest Expo yet. API estimates that the Expo will attract more than 2,000 people from around the world. In addition, a number of key companies will be exhibiting for the first time.

The conference will feature 11 technical and 10 issue-oriented sessions. Speakers and panelists will present the latest research on VOC emissions, recycling, MDI/TDI emissions, upholstered-furniture flammability, transportation and packaging.

The API will offer its second annual training seminar, "Understanding Polyurethanes - Chemistry, Raw Materials, Markets and Applications," which will run concurrently with Polyurethanes Expo 2001. The seminar will cover the basics of polyurethane chemistry and technology, how polyurethanes are made, how they are used, and the markets and applications in which they play a vital role.
