Huntsman to Present Paper about Prepolymers at FEICA

July 16, 2014

The Polyurethanes division of Huntsman recently announced that its European adhesives team will present a paper at FEICA 2014, which will take place September 17-19 in Berlin. The talk will coincide with the availability of a new aromatic polyurethane prepolymer that the business has developed to improve the manufacture of reactive hot-melt adhesives.

Servaas Holvoet, Ph.D., technical manager for Adhesives and Coatings, will present a paper on the use of prepolymers in the creation of PUR adhesives, and the environmental, health, and safety benefits that can come with designing low-monomer polyurethane resins.

Holvoet received his doctorate in polymer chemistry in 2007 at Ghent University, Belgium, where his work focused on waterborne UV-curable polymers. He joined Huntsman in 2010 as a polyurethane research scientist, where he was responsible for the development of resins for diverse adhesive, coating and elastomer applications, as well as binders for composite wood applications.
