CRODA: Dimer Diamine

June 13, 2011

Priamine 1075 is a high-purity dimer diamine that can be used as a bio-based modifier of polyamide plastics or co-polyamide elastomers to make them flexible, even at low temperatures. The material reportedly exhibits extreme hydrophobicity, allowing for faster drying and the reduction of moisture absorption, which improves dimensional stability and reduces strength variations. Priamine 1075 can provide improved adhesion to various substrates and can reduce the melt viscosity at equal molecular weight. This combination allows for better impregnation of reinforcement fibers, enhancing material strength.
