The monthly roundup from Editor Teresa McPherson.
We begin this new year with some exciting announcements. Our
Web site continues to be an important source of adhesives and sealants news and
information, and we’re proud to offer several new features. A video section on the
homepage, www.adhesivesmag.com, serves as a show-and-tell feature to highlight
companies’ manufacturing processes or other achievements or innovations. If you
have a video clip you’d like to be considered for editorial insertion, please
send me an e-mail.
Our “Adhesives in the News” section continues to be a popular feature and
covers noteworthy mentions of our industry throughout the media. From adhesives
that can help to heal sick babies to glues that mimic the sticky stuff in
spider webs, our industry has some exciting new developments. Check this
section often for the latest news coverage of our industry.
Social networking continues to be a growing trend, and
ASI
is keeping you connected to your customers and competitors. Join us on Facebook
and LinkedIn, and follow our Twitter feeds for the latest adhesives and
sealants industry news. Find links to all of these sites on our Web site,
www.adhesivesmag.com.
ASI is also proud to introduce a new Web seminar in
February. Dr. Jose Briones, director of Operations for SpyroTek Specialty
Materials, will speak on “The Value in Use Analysis Approach to Product
Marketing” on February 16. Briones will present a new approach to map the value
space for a product or service called the “Value Box.” This new tool combines conventional value
approaches such as cost-plus and more-sophisticated methods such as cost-in-use
and value-in-use.
We wish you a very happy and prosperous 2010!
